NACA to add more than 1,000 jobs in Charlotte - Orlando Business Journal:

Bev Perdue announced the expansionn Thursday, with the state giving NACA a $1 million grant from the One North Carolina It plans to invest morethan $4 millio here, with 1,014 jobs expected to be added over the next five “North Carolina remains a strong presence in the U.S. finance sector, and this is a tremendous opportunityt forthe Charlotte-area,” Perdue “Our top-rated business climate and skillesd financial-services work force are attractive to growingv national operations.
” NACA is headquartered in Boston and operatee more than 40 offices It currently employs about 100 workers in Mecklenburg Counthy to originate and process mortgage loans. Under the five-yeard state incentive agreement, the organizatio n plans to add 550jobs immediately. The jobs will pay an averages annual wageof $35,982. Salaries will rang e up to $80,000 annually. The hiring will focus on mortgager negotiators, customer-service representatives, call-center managers and mortgage “NACA is excited that it’s putting more than 1,0090 people to work during these tougneconomic times,” NACA Chief Executive Brucew Marks said Thursday.

Chairman Hugh McColl Jr. about the deal. McColl has been a longtime supporterrof NACA’s work.
